Retirements and other news

The School of Education is saddened to report the retirement of two of our valued colleagues, Mrs. Roberta Barilla and Dr. Margaret Clark.

Mrs. Barilla was a member of the Villa Maria faculty who joined us when Villa merged with Gannon. She has taught a wide variety of courses and provided student teaching supervision for a lengthy period of time.  Mrs. Barilla will continue to reside in the Erie area and focus her time on her family. We wish her well in this new chapter of her life!

Dr. Margaret Clark joined the Gannon faculty after a lengthy career in the Wattsburg School District.  Dr. Clark also had expertise in a variety of areas and most recently served as the Coordinator of Field Placements.  Dr. Clark and her husband plan to travel during retirement although their home base will remain in Northwestern Pennsylvania.  We wish Dr. Clark safe travels and a happy retirement!

In other news, Mrs. Nancy Kelly, a member of our support staff, has been reassigned to the ROTC Office.  Mrs.  Kelly has been the face of the School of Education for several years and we will miss her smile at the front desk.  The ROTC office is in Beyer and you are welcome to stop and wish her well in the new position!

It also saddens us to report that Dr. Monica Erdos will not be with us for the upcoming term.  Dr. Erdos is a member of our Special Education faculty and a graduate of Gannon’s doctoral program.  We wish  Dr. Erdos and her family well as they engage in treatment for her medical condition.  Please join us in praying for Dr. Erdos and wishing her strength during this upcoming battle.

In good news, we welcome Mrs. Angela Sullivan to the department!  Mrs. Sullivan is the new undergraduate secretary for the School of Education.  Please stop by and welcome her to the family.

Finally, we welcome Dr. Kathleen Kingston back from sabbatical.  Dr. Kingston is the Associate Director for Graduate Programs.  She returns from international travel in Jordan and Thailand to help us focus on travel opportunities for our students.  Welcome back Dr. K!!
