Hello Education Majors!

Please plan to attend the following important meetings/event:

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 11:00 to 11:45 am in Palumbo 2012: Senior
and Junior Meeting. This does not include those individuals who are
currently student teaching. Fall 2010 and spring 2011 student teaching
will be discussed as well as other important updates.

Friday, January 29, 2010 at 5:00 pm in Zurn 104: Fashion Show sponsored
by the Gannon University Student Pennsylvania State Education
Association. Learn what is appropriate professional attire. A few
surprises are planned.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 11:00 to 11:45 am in Palumbo 2005:
Ten-week practicum meeting to be conducted by Mr. Sucha. All students
who are registered for a ten-week practicum are expected to attend.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 11:00 to 11:45 am in Palumbo 2014:
Sophomore Meeting. School of Education application process, Praxis
information, and other important updates are on the agenda.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 11:00 to 11:45 am in Palumbo 2012:
Freshman Meeting. Planning for your future as an educator and other
important updates are on the agenda.

Watch for email messages and notices posted in classrooms which will
provide you with information on professional development opportunities
this semester. Also, a message board of dates will be posted on
Wednesday, January 27 outside of the Education Offices on the second
floor of Palumbo.

Volunteer Opportunity

We have an opportunity to volunteer at Emerson-Gridley on Saturday, January 23 from 9:15 am to 11:45 am. The K-6 school is holding an event called Super Science Saturday and they could use some extra hands to help out. This is a great opportunity to engage in some science at a location that is close to Gannon. (And they are offering free walking tacos!). If you are willing to spend a few hours with students at this school let Dr. Forbes know BEFORE 2 pm on Wednesday, January 20. We will provide the principal, Mrs. Malinda Bostick, with your name so that she can assign you a teacher or room to assist with. You don't need to prepare anything, just be willing to be an extra set of hands and interact pleasantly with parents and children.

Students are needed to model at the SPSEA professional fashion show. Clothes will be provided through JC Penney. The fashion show specifics are listed below.
