Essay Contest: Greening Gannon
Open to Gannon undergraduate and graduate students
First place prize: $100
Second place prize: $50
The first- and second-place winners will be published in The Gannon Knight’s Perspective section.
What is one specific change an individual at Gannon or Gannon University should adopt to conserve the Earth’s resources? Why?
400-500 words
A committee will award the prizes based on the following criteria:
· Focuses on one particular change
· Uses research from reliable sources effectively
· Well argued (uses good reasons with substantive evidence to back up claims)
· Uses language and level of detail appropriate to a general audience
· Well organized
· Well written
Due no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5th, 2011.
