Social Work Dinner

Good Morning, Education Faculty and Students!

As you may have heard, Sunday, December 5, 2010, the Social Work Club is sponsoring their annual dinner for members of the Erie Community. This is an excellent, well-attended event that has become a Gannon tradition. This year, the School of Education has been asked to provide activities for children of all ages. Activities will include: making/decorating Christmas ornaments, helping to write letters to Santa, reading of Christmas stories, Christmas games, and more.

Volunteers are needed! If you need service hours or First-year Seminar hours working with children, this is a great opportunity to fulfill your requirement, learn, and enjoy yourself at the same time! Please email Mrs. Clement at clement002@gannon.edu  today and let her know if you are available to help. Please let her know which of the following days/times you will assist.

1.       Thursday, December 2, from 7 pm – 9 pm, Palumbo 2020:  Prepare materials for the Activities Room (create posters, prepare Christmas games, etc.). You do not need to be an artist to help.

2.       Sunday, December 5, from 8 am – 9 am: Transport materials from the School of Education Office to the Activities Room in Waldron. Meet in the lobby of the School of Education promptly at 8 am.

3.       Sunday, December 5, from 9 am – 10 am: Set up the Activities Room. Report to the Information Desk in the lobby of Waldron for directions.

4.       Sunday, December 5, from 9:45 am – 12:30 pm: Help children/adolescents with the activities (make and take, read, game leaders, etc.). Report to the Information Desk in the lobby of Waldron for directions.

5.       Sunday, December 5, from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Clean up. Report to the Information Desk in the lobby of Waldron for directions.

I look forward to seeing you!

Mrs. Whiteman
