Earth Action, a local environmental education organization, has an opportunity to work with students in the CHAMPS after school program.  Read on…

The CHAMPS afterschool program is starting, and there are two school this fall that are teaming up with Earth Action to see how they can make their school more green through doing an energy audit and then making recommendations on how the students, teachers and the administration can green their school and save money.

Below are the two schools we need volunteers for:

Jefferson School      Tuesdays             4 to 5pm        2 or 3 volunteers-very needed- once a week

Pfeiffer Burleigh       Wednesdays        4 to 5pm        2 volunteers –once a week

The CHAMPS program runs from late October thru mid December.  All volunteers with be trained by Earth Action staff and will work alongside a teacher who is leading the CHAMPS afterschool program.  Volunteers will act as mentors and encourage and help the students as they make plans to make their school greener.

Please contact Dr. Forbes to volunteer.  She will answer questions and npass on the contact information for Earth Action.
